And they're off! The bad weather hasn't stopped the giggling and excitement of getting ready for our water session this afternoon.

A fabulous morning at the Anderton Centre so far. We are now about to go for our paddle boarding session!
Today our KS2 Reading Ambassadors went to Dukinfield Town Hall to take part in a celebration event with lots of other Tameside schools. It was lovely to see them up on the stage to receive their certificate to thank them for their hard work this year. I am super proud of them all.
Do you have what it takes to promote a love of reading next year? Maybe you could be the next Reading Ambassador to represent our school!
Today we had a visitor from Tameside Libraries who introduced the new Summer Reading Challenge which is now open to enter. This summer, join the Ready, Set, Read! team and their animal mascots for the Reading Challenge as they use their skills to weave their way through a summer obstacle course. The Challenge will celebrate play and participation, encouraging you to engage in games and sports in any way that best suits you!
Some of our KS2 children took part in a cheerleading competition this afternoon where they came 6th out of 12 schools! They did a great job cheering on all the other schools too and even made signs. Well done everyone, you did the school proud!
Our Stars this week are Evan and Thomas.
Thomas is a kind, polite, hardworking young man who is definitely high school ready.
Evan has some impressive dance moves which he shared with us in our dance around the ages topic this half term.
Our Good to be Green winners are Seth and Lucy.
Congratulations to the 9 incredible children who achieved their Headteacher Award today- what a great accomplishment before moving on to high school.
We are ranked 2nd in engagement in active travel in Tameside! Well done everyone for all your hard work and keep it up!

Year 6 have been learning different dance styles from different decades!
They will perform their dance next week in groups.
Ashton Lacrosse came in to work with year 6 today. We looked at techniques for scooping the ball using the 3s- stand, squat and scoop. We then played a fun game of Hungry Hippos. Finally we practised shooting a goal. A great session!
