Year 6 2025-2026 Blog

Can you guess the planet?

During our SATs morning breakfast we found a shape that looked like a planet. Can you guess it? Yes - it is Saturn in our rice crispies! Made all year 6 laugh.

Super Forest School Fun!

What a busy few weeks we have had in forest school!  Playing Forest Ranger and Closer, Closer, Making friends with leopard slugs, relaxing in the hammocks, making mini fires, safely whittling sticks to make are own skewers to roast marshmallows, making delicious s'mores and celebrating the coronation with tasty cupcakes. Well done everyone. Looking forward to next week!

Good Luck Year 6!

All of us here at Broadbent Fold would like to take the opportunity to wish all of year 6 the best of luck for their tests next week.

We are very proud of how hard you have all worked this year- you are all stars!

Coronation Day Celebrations

Year 6 have enjoyed our Coronation Celebrations today. We took part in a 'Draw with Rob' to draw an illustration of the royal crown. We have watched clips about Queen Elizabeth II's coronation and discussed what to expect tomorrow when King Charles III is coronated. We have also enjoyed the chance to sit and talk with our friends and watch some of a movie!

A well earned day of rest!

Y6 Star of the week 5-5-23

Congratulations to our stars this week Xander and Aaron.

Xander has such a positive attitude all of the time and he is keen to make improvements and complete his work to the highest possible standard. He is an outstanding role model in the class.

Aaron has worked so hard this year and I am impressed with how much he seeks out advice to make improvements to his work. He is definitely high school ready.

Pasha and Jack won the Good to be Green Award for being ready, respectful and safe all week.

Mini Marathon

Year 6 have been taking part in the Daily Mile to take part in a mini marathon. This is a fabulous way to keep fit and be healthy.

Y6 Star of the week 28-4-23

Well done to our Stars of the week Maycie and Lucy.

Maycie is working so hard to improve her writing style aswell as the content of her writing. She wrote an impressive character description of our creature called Skellig this week.

Lucy is working hard in science and has successfully made her own classification keys to sort animals.

Our Good to be Green Award winners are Sam and Noah.

Well done to our Silver and Gold award winners too.

Classification Keys

In our science topic this half term, year 6 have been creating their own classification keys to sort different animals. On Tuesday, we had the opportunity to use a classification key to identify different invertebrates on our school the grounds.

We had a lot of fun!

Coding Workshop at Rayner Stephens part 2

This morning the second half of Y6 visited Rayner High to make their 3D car and code it using the Crumble Coding Set. I am so impressed with the computing skills of all of the pupils who managed to make their police sirens flash in different colours.

Thank you to the staff at Rayner High for letting us use their facilities too!
