Boxing Masterclass

Well, Years 5 and 6 were well and truly put through their paces by Danny and Jack from the Little Rocky's Boxing Team. All the pupls and staff learnt how to jab, punch straight, one-two combo, upper-cut, dodge-and-move, as well as being put through our paces with burpees, bear crawls, a skipping test and even an arm-wrestle!

Girls' Football Team

The team took part in the inaugral Tameside Girls Cup competiton playing against a strong St. Mary's RC. The match took place regardless of Storm Gareth doing its best to prevent play. On top of the tough conditions we played without any substitutes, due to illness, but the girls played their part in a non-stop end-to-end encounter which they eventually lost 3-0. However, the effort and attitude shown bodes well for the future. Special mention must go to Lily Bowker, who although in Year 4, put in a Player of the Match performance, defending with dogged spirit throughout.

Viking invades Year 6!

The Year 6 class were invaded by Njal the Viking. He told us all about Viking life from everyday life around the longhouse and village, to traditions regarding the laws, marriage and the tactics and weaponry of the raids. We even got to have a battle after sailing across the hall!

Indoor Athletics Runners-up

We were fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to compete in the Audenshaw High Cluster Indoor Athletics competition. It comprised of relay races, standing triple and long jump, chest-pass throw, sprinting and speed bounce. A fabulous effort by the 10 pupils involved ensured a runners-up spot, only narrowly beaten by the current Tameside Indoor Champions. All the pupils displayed good sportsmanship and positive attiudes throughout as well as beads of sweat and smiling faces!

Year 6 smashed it...O YES THEY DID!

I am hugely proud of the efforts and confidence shown from all the children in Year 6 this evening with their amazing performance of Cinderella and Rockerfella. They were all amazing! Well done to all involved and thank-you to all the parents, carers and staff who made it possible with their support.

Year 6 at Safe Squad

Year 6 had a very informative morning at Safe Sqaud. They learnt about staying safe online, safety in and around the home and what to do should there be a fire or they find someone unresponsive. We're in safe hands with these lot! Thanks to Tameside Youth Services for providing a tremendous service in partnership with GMP and GM Fire and Rescue.
