Look at how fantastic some of our Year 4 diary writing is. The children didn't just imagine being Roman soldiers, but they wrote in chronological order explaining what they did and how they felt. I was highly impressed by the use of fronted adverbials. Well done everyone.
The librarians have already started their roles so well. They have made sure the KS1 and KS2 libraries are tidy. They have organised lunch time boxes of reading books for children to read at lunch time. They also run a lunch time Library Club where they read, play games and make book marks.
They are all already wonderful!

Year 4 started their first activity in learning how to draw people in action. They loved making their stick men come to life.
I am very excited to work with our new KS2 Reading Ambassadors. They will help me run competitions and challenges over the year to encourage reading for pleasure.
They have already been set their first challnege...to make a poster about reading to be displayed in our school library and on the Tameside Library Twitter (now X) feed.
I am very excited to work with them all this year.

The children were fantastic in their first ever penny whistle lesson with Mrs O'Leary. They learnt how to play the notes A B G, sang Roman songs and analysed a Frank Sinatra song. A great session.

The new Eco leaders harvested our fabulous school grown tomatoes, raspberries and strawberries. They were delicious!

Year 4 had an opportunity to research our history topic- The Romans. They chose from a multitude of topics from currency, language, gods, buildings, clothing, Emperors and even lifestyles. Their work is really coming on and I look forward to displaying some of it.
