What a brilliant day we've had celebrating King's coronation! We decorated our classroom, made crowns and coloured place mats ready for our special lunch. We even had special visitors... Can you guess who they were? We would like to say BIG THANK YOU to our fabulous kitchen staff for making our yummy lunch and delicious cupcakes.
Congratulations to our Stars of the Week. This week, Head Teacher's certificates were awarded for being a kind friend and for great work in phonics. We also had two Good to Be Green lottery winners. Some children achieved Bronze and Silver Awards. Well done!
A big well done to the children who received awards today. We had Head Teacher's certificates awarded for improvement in handwriting and in editing. Two children received Good to be Green pencils for being ready, respectful and safe. Some Year 3 children have been working incredibly hard at home and received Mathletics certificates.

Year 3 dressed as evacuees and experienced life as it would have been during WW2.
They learnt ever so much about the Air Raid Shelter and it's history. Children looked at artefacts and had wardens teach them all about the history and what life would have been like.
Do you know how deep the Air Raid Shelters are? What jobs did the women do while the men went to war?

Year 3 are learning to play the game of rounders. They are learning how to hit a ball correctly and how to be a successful fielder.
Cooperation is needed to be part of a team. Can you be a good team player?

, The Eco Leaders did a fantastic job when they went litter picking at Gorse Hall. With the help of Mr Pickles from the Friends of Gorse Hall and Mr Moon from Tameside Rotary and we collected 4 big bags full of litter. All of the children worked really hard even in the pouring rain. Well done everyone for helping to improve our local environment which will help our wildlife to grow and thrive.
