, In the Autumn term the Eco leaders and their chosen helpers from each class planted crocus and daffodil bulbs with the help of the members of the Tameside Rotary. The crocuses were donated by the Tameside Rotary to commemorate the End Polio Now campaign. Now that it is the beginning of spring the flowers are starting to grow. Fabulous job everyone! Please make sure that any litter is picked up, as we sadly found a number of pieces of litter near the new flowers.
Spring 2 is going to be robotic- an exciting themed half term based on the book 'The Iron Man by Ted Hughes'.
Have a look at the Medium Term Plan attached to see all the curriculum learning that will take place.
Year 3 will take part in a lego workshop (see this website for more details- https://www.juniorstem.co.uk/ ). During the workshop children will make a model and control this using an ipad.
This week we celebrate World Book day on Thursday. During the week, we have lots of fun reading and book events taking place. Each class will have story time swaps where a different adult from the school will come to read them a story. Each class will make books to be displayed in their library making every child an author!. On Thursday Years 4-6 will take part in a football themed reading quiz. All children may bring in their favourite books, comics or magazines to read on Thursday. On Friday you may choose to dress up as your favourite character- I can't wait to see who you come as.

Special congratulations to our stars of the week. This week Head Teacher's certificates were awarded for great work in maths and fantastic story writing. We also had two Good to be Green lottery winners, Siver Award and a Vocabulary Ninja Champion.
All Year 3 children have worked super hard this half term. Well done! Have a well deserved rest.
Today Year 6 presented an assembly about different women and girls who have made a great impact in the world of science. Today, we investigated soil permeability. First, we looked at soil samples and discussed their qualities. We tested different samples of soil by pouring the same amount of water and observing it filter through. We recorded our results in a table.

Our pupil leaders have chosen 6 brilliant winners of our E-Safety Competition. They looked at how social media affects mental health and what we can do to improve this. We had many entries from across school and it was very difficult to decide. Well done everyone.
