This half term, our topic is called 'Tremendous Toys: Have you got this toy at home?' We will be exploring how toys have changed since our Grandparents were little to the current toys today. We will get to play with a variety of old toys and will use their DT skills to create their very own moving toy. Year 2 will be learning around the theme oceans and the seaside. 

They will even be learning to sew as part of Design Technology.

This term our topic is 'Who were the Ancient Greeks?' We will explore what life was life in Ancient Greece exploring Gods and Goddesses, the Olympics and ancient myths and legends. We will taste a selection of vegetables for a Greek salad and use out DT skills to make our own versions. Please see the attached information and home learning ideas. Don't forget about our creative homework task which is also attached. 

Year 5 excelled themselves last half term by creating their own amazing Anglo-Saxon shields!   What an amazing array of shields!  We even had a delicious shield cake which we shared with the class! After presentng their creations, we had some fun outside, makimg shield formations in groups!  Our final task was to re-enact an exciting battle charge between two armies!  I am pleased to say there were no injuries in the battle - we had great fun!  Mrs Blomeley

Awards for the last week of term included our Vocab Ninja Certificate for using interesting and impressive vocabulary in their writing!  Headteacher's Merits were given for being a fantastic representative for school at  our Cricket competition. as well as for showing great resilience with a brilliant attitude towards school!  Good to be Green awards were given for following our school rules of being Ready, Respectful, Respectful and Safe!  More Silver certificates and badges were awarded for achieving 200 Star Points!  Wow!  Let's go for Gold!   Well done everyone!  Mrs Blomeley

Today, Year 1 made fruit kebabs. The children had to chop, peel and arrange fruit into a tasty and pleasing presentation. The children reasearched a variety of different fruits before designing their kebab. They had to think about the look, feel and taste. They learnt how to use everyday tools safely and how to present their product. The children got to eat their kebabs and evaluate them with their peers. Great job everyone! 

Huge congratulations to our first pupils who have received their gold award this year! What an amazing achievement. They are all ready to head into the next half term to get their Headteacher's Award. You can do it. As always, I am super proud.

Well done to our 4 children who have been very busy at their outside of school clubs and have achieved awards in swimming, karate and hockey - keep up the hard work guys

Just chilling with Year 6 has been amazing. More days like this will definitely be planned!
