Check out our awesome hunting skills. We had to try and kill a cave bear, a woolly mammoth or a sabre tooth rider. Niki managed to kill all 3 with only three spears!

We have had so much during our workshop today. We have learned so many new facts about what life was like during the Stone Age. We had a close inspection of some real artefacts including a real woolly mammoth's tusk, hair and lots of real flint. We had a go at being hunter gatherers practising our hunting skills using spears. We then got to meet a wooly rhino in our classroom. Please ask the children what they enjoyed the most and I am sure that they will have lots to share.
Please look through our terrific photos.
I hope you have all had a fabulous October holiday break and the children have been well rested – they’ve really impressed me so far this week! Our topic for Autumn 2 is “Can you crack the code to become a spy?”. The class received a mysterious briefcase that had a coded message inside it. The message contained a secret mission. Who could have possibly delivered it?

Year 5 have been in a zoom meeting with Emily Cunningham in Cornwall to address the question "who looks after the sea?" She shared her experiences with the sea creatures she's worked with from around the world.
fun fact: Never pee on a jelly fish sting as it makes it worse! Just pour water on it.

Year 3 worked collaboratively to research and present a poster about different periods of time of the Stone Age. We found out about the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Age times. After they made their time line posters they presented them to the class using their oracy skills.

Year 2 children enjoyed making lanterns following instructions. Children spoke about how lanterns are used when celebrating Diwali.

Agnes (our Diversity Governor) came into Year 6 today to share the journey of chocolate from the plantations to the supermarket. The children were very enthused to learn about the lives of plantation children and had some very inciteful questions.

A mysterious briefcase has been delivered and we found a secret code in it! We deciphered the code using a cipher wheel which revealed a secret mission.
