Reading Ambassador Book Reviews

Well done to our Reading Ambassadors who have all created a book review to display in out KS2 Library. They were asked to make a book review by Tameside Libraries to promote reading across the school. These will be shared on the Tameside Library social media accounts.

Can you make a book review for our library? Tell us why you like the book, what it is about, who else will enjoy it and give it a star rating out of 5.

Y6 Star of the week 12-1-24

Congratulations to Reiss for her wonderful reading and Luca for his exceptional maths work this week.

Ruby and Summer won the Good to be Green Award.

Evie is the first person to win their Silver Award.

Active Body, Active Mind

We worked collaboratively this morning to successfully complete different team games.

This afternoon, as well as practising our yoga techniques we also discussed emotions and worked in groups to act out an emotion using only our body language and facial expressions.

Historians at work

This week we looked at a selection of artefact images about Vikings around the room and had to use the clues to prove statements that you may find in history books about Vikings. We discovered that Vikings did not have horned helmets and they traded materials world-wide!

Active Body, Active Mind

Last week Year 6 started their Active Body, Active Mind sessions with Active Tameside. In the morning they looked at team building games and the importance of working collaboratively. In the afternoon they looked at mindfulness and started some basic yoga and breathing activities.

Sports Quiz Winners

Last half term, pupils in KS2 took part in a sports quiz against other primary schools in Tameside. They worked in teams of 4 and aimed to get as many points as possible. A team of pupils in Year 6 called Xmas Sports won first place with a score of 62 points - 2 points clear of the runners up. We also had a team from Year 3 finishing 10th with 43 points, another team from Year 6 finishing 12th with 40 points and a team called 'The Goats' finishing in 13th with 39 points. Well done to everyone who took part!
