Quicksticks Competition

Year 5 and 6 loved taking part in the quicksticks hockey competition on Wednesday night. Year 6 played Manchester Road and Cannon Burrows winning all of their games without conceeding any goals.

Year 5 lost to St George's 1-0 and drew against Cannon Burrows. Everyone showed great teamwork and some fantastic hockey skills. A special mention to Henry who got MVP for the Year 6 team and Kasia who got given a school games badge for passion. Well done to everyone that played.

Y6 Star of the week 25-11-22

Well done to Harriet and Thomas for being our stars this week.

Harriet has produced some fantastic work in science about how peppered moths have evolved.

Thomas has worked with enthusiasm, remembering and sharing key facts about evolution.

Seth and Daniel are our Good to be Green winners this week.

Survival of the fittest

As part of our evolution topic, Year 6 planned and carried out a fair and comparative test today to see which 'beak' would collect the most food and survive. The children were independent in choosing their equipment, method and ways to measure their activity.

Who survived and who didn't make it?

School Attendance

We are working very hard with our pupils and families to improve school attendance. We are now monitoring which classes have the best attendance. This week year 4 won with 98% - well done superstars!

Y6 Star of the week 18-11-22

Well do to our Stars of the Week Tyler and Maycie.

Tyler is working really hard to be more independent and to complete tasks. Keep up the great effort.

Maycie is amazing in maths lessons and in her Booster group. I am really impressed with you.

Henry and Pasha won the Good to be Green Award today.

Well done to all of our Bronze Award winners for getting 50 star points and our Silver Award winners for getting 100 star points.

Maths in the workplace

During Maths Week England, we had a parent visitor in to talk about how they use maths in their job. We found out about how tax is collected fairly and what tax contributions pay for in our community. We found out that even the children pay tax when they buy certain items like chocolate or computer games.

Maths Week England Y6 Art

In Year 6 we looked at geometrical art in preparation for Maths Week England. We used different techniques to create our artwork.

I am so impressed with the final results.

Mini London Marathon 2022

Well done to everyone who completed the 2022 TCS Mini London Marathon. Pupils in each class could run, jog or walk the 2.6 miles. They have received a commemorative pin badge as a well done!

MATHS and ART! Maths Week England 2022!

For Maths Week England, each child from every class produced a piece of Maths related artwork.  These ranged from Repeated Patterns in Reception to Geometric Patterns in Year 6 and the children really enjoyed creating their masterpieces!  Today, they had the opportunity to visit the Art Gallery and view the fantastic pieces of artwork on display in the Hall.  They had some interesting discussions about their favourite works of art!
