Minibeast Hunt


We went on a minibeast hunt. We found lots of different bugs and discovered many of them like dark places to live.

We have our own caterpillars to care for. We love observing them to see how they grow and change.
The children love learning and exploring in our minibeast lab!
Our topic this half term is mini beasts. We have been reading 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'.
We have painted some fantastic symmetrical butterflies and printed some caterpillars using a repeating pattern.
We loved making our Easter nests. We followed a set of instructions so we knew what to do. They tasted delicious!
The afternoon children had a fabulous time on their walk round the school spotting signs of Spring.
We loved joining in with Science Week. We tested materials to find which would be best for keeping the rain out. We looked at the difference between waterproof and not waterproof things. We absolutely loved our visit to the Science Fair!
We have been learning all about Little Red Riding Hood. We have been role playing the story in Granny's Cottage.
We all looked amazing on World Book Day dressed as our favourite characters. We enjoyed listening to some of our favourite stories. Thank you Mrs Williams, our school governor for coming in to read 'What the Ladybird Heard'.
We had a fantastic time on pancake day. We followed a recipe and made our own pancakes. They tasted delicious! We discussed Lent and talked about our favourite food that we could give up.
