A huge congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 boys' football team who won their semi final against St John Fisher RC primary school tonight and progress to the final of the Alan Millea cup! The game finished 3-3 and so went to penalties. A special shout out to player of the match, Joe, who saved one of the penalties helping our team to get through to the next round. Amazing work boys, well done!
As part of our careers curriculum, Year 5 and 6 had a visit from a Dental Clinic from Denton. The visitors explained their roles, what they do and top tips to look after their teeth. The children knew lots of details regarding dental hygiene, roles and names of their teeth how food and drink effect your teeth.
Headteacher's Awards were given in this week's Merit Assembly for fantastic progress in reading, and for making a great contribution to our Glow Dodgeball competition. Good to be Green awards were given for following our school rules of being Ready, Respectful and Safe. Year 5 performed the Haka at the beginning of the Assembly to celebrate the start of the Six Nations Rugby Championship. Well done everyone! You were amazing! Mrs Blomeley
Year 5 loved their visit to the Science Fair, which was confidently hosted by our amazing Year 6 Scientists! They were enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area of Science they covered. Likewise, Year 5 were able to identify whether the Science activities involved Chemistry, Biology or Physics! Well done to everyone and thank you to Mrs Higham and Mrs Gao for organising a fun Science session! Mrs Blomeley

Thank you to everyone who entered our World Book Day completion. The Reading Ambassadors had time on Friday to choose the winners from each class.

Year 5 had an amazing array of book characters yesterday! They included Mr Twit, Frodo Baggins, Darth Vader, Where's Wally and Willy Wonka to Ghostbusters, Hermione Grainger and Glenda from Wicked! Alex Ryder was out in force and Super Mario made a guest appearance! We even had a Dictionary! Everyone looked fantastic! Well done Year 5!
