Bikeability Day 1

The children have had a blast this morning on their bikes with the instructors, even in the rain! They're off onto the road this afternoon.

Year 6 Assessments

Well, all the hard work is being assessed this week in Year 6. I can't wait to mark these papers to see how much progress the children have made. Feeling very proud!

Finishing off our Spy stories

The class are finishing off their Spy stories and are typing their final piece onto a laptop. This will include their edits and improvements! We will print their final piece out so they can share their stories with Y3 and Y4 on Spy. They can't wait to share!

Rock sorting

In science we have been exploring different rocks. We started with a rock hunt around school and we discussed the difference natural and man-made rocks. We have sorted rocks by observing their properties closely. We then looked for patterns in different types of rocks by testing their hardness, porosity and buoyancy.

Hockey Heats

Our Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in a hockey competition this evening where they showed great sportsmanship and determination. Well done to our Year 6's who came 3rd in their group. A big congratulations to our Year 5 team who came top of their group and progress to the finals next week.

Friction

The class completed a little science practical to investigate the effects of friction caused by different surfaces using the sole of a shoe. We found out that the higher the Newton reading, the more friction was generated.
