Superstars

Well done to last week's Head-teacher and Good to be Green award winners! Keep up the fantastic work!

Space in the Classroom!

Year 5 enjoyed putting their new inflatable planets of the Solar System to good use yesterday!   As part of their Earth and Space topic, the class were able to identify and order the planets from their position to the Sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.  The Solar System has now taken its residency in the reading corner, together with a motarised version that rotates to bring the planets to life!

Year 5 Awards!

Well done to our first award winners of 2023!  Merits and Good to be Green awards have been given for endless enthusiasm, brilliant Maths work and being Ready, Respectful and Safe!  Bronze certificates and badges have been awarded for achieving 50 star points and Silver awards for 100!  Amazing work everyone!  Mrs Blomeley

Friday Awards

Year 3 has started this term with lots of certificates. Head Teacher's Awards were given for brilliant attitude for learning and great work in reading and phonics. Congratulations to our Good to be Green lottery winners. Some children achieved Bronze and Silver Awards. Well done!

Y6 Star of the week 13-11-23

Congraulations to our Y6 Stars of the week Rocky and Jenson.

Rocky has been more attentive in lessons and is starting to complete more tasks in the time set- keep this up Rocky.

Jenson has worked hard in his maths lessons this week and has a good understanding of ratio and fractions. This is tricky so well done Jenson.

Abigail and Alfie achieved the good to be green award for their excellent behaviour and attitude to learning.

Long distance running

Well done to year 6 who braved the arctic weather this week in their athletics lesson. We were developing our stamina for long distance running and how to control our pace.

Year 4 Winners

A massive congratulations to our Head teacher Merit winner, the children who gained the Good to be Green pencils and our first 4 silver certificate awards. Well done everyone.

Year 5 explore: How do we know the Earth is a sphere?

:To begin their new Science Topic - Earth and Space - Year 5 went out to the playground yesterday when I asked the question: "What shape is the Earth?"  What did they see?  What did it look  like? What shape did they say? The conclusion was that they couldn't really say for sure, although most children think the Earth is spherical.  The class followed this up with an activity about the Flat Earth Theory versus the Spherical Body Theory.  They found more evidence that the Earth is a sphere, but, amazingly, there are still people around the world who think the Earth is flat!

Special Visitor in Year 5!

Year 5 enjoyed listening to Imran about being a Muslim!  They were fascinated to learn about his Islamic faith and the five different prayer times each day.  Imran also explained more about his place of worship; the Mosque, where he prays to Allah.  All of Year 5 asked Imran some extremely sensible and interesting questions.  I was very proud of them and I'm sure Imran was impressed too!  Mrs Blomeley

Muslim visitor

Year 1 enjoyed their visit from a Muslim visitor. They learnt all about the Mosque, Allah and Mecca. They enjoyed learning how to say some of the Arabic alphabet and dressing up in the traditional Muslim clothes.
