Science Week was a huge success last week!
The children loved all our science week activities based around growing. The garden centre role play has been a massive success and the cooking and tasting roasted vegetables went down a treat too!
This week is Science Week. We are learning all about growing, the life cycle of a plant and what plants need to grow.
This week has been Science Week. We had a super afternoon playing on the Potato Bus, learning all about how potatoes grow, weighing potatoes and making healthy food plates. Well done to everybody who also brought in thier worst invention ever!!!!!!!! Super work everyone
Last week we celebrated World Book Day and we had a lovely time sharing books together. The outfits were amazing! Luke was our class winner as Fantastic Mr Fox but everyone looked fantastic really. Well done to everyone and a big thank you for all of your support. A special thank you to the lovely Grandparents that came into our class and shared stories with us as well.
We have been reading an Australian story called Wombat Stew! We decided to make our own Wombat Stew outside with ingedients from the book such as mud, twigs, leaves and stones. We had lots of fun acting out the story and singing along whilst we made the stew.
Year 2 have been really enjoying their Australia topic. We have taken a quick trip to Australia and explored the local environment. We've been finding out so much about the fantastic animals that live there.
We have had a super day today. We all came dressed up as book characters and had lots of lovely stories read to us by our visting Grandmas and Grandads. Thank you to everybody who came into year 1.
We all looked fabulous in our World Book Day costumes. We loved our grandparents coming in to read stories to us. A magnificent day was had by all!
Have you seen the latest creatures to be roaming the classrooms of Broadbent Fold? Year 6 have been busy researching, writing and filming their own nature documentaries about endangered animals. A couple of particular class favourites are the giant panda and the sun bear.
How can we help these endangered animals to survive in the wild? We have written to Sir David Attenborough, using our best formal letter writing, to suggest an animal that we would like him to film next. Let's hope he listens and raises awareness of our furry friends!
