Branching Databases Year 3

Year 3 have learnt about Branching Databases they've explored sorting fruits using questions and then made their own branching databases on paper and using 2question on Purple Mash.

Excellent skills shown today.

What is the area of our playground?

To continue with our micro:bit playground survey, today we coded the micro:bits to calculate the average step distance multiplied by the number of steps to work out the area of different parts of our playground. We will then add all of these compound areas together to give us a combined area in squared meters. The children are really enjoying their coding.

Olympic assembly

Today we watched an assembly about the upcoming olympics with guest speaker paralympian Stef Reid who is a professional long jumper. We watched a clip of how incredible she is at jumping wearing her blade because her foot was amputated as a child. She was very inspiring and I think the class are looking forward to watching the olympics over the summer.

Summer Fair Fun

Thank you families for supporting us yesterday with our summer fair - thank goodness the sun came out! We will check what we have raised and this will support going towards trips and experiences for pupils. Thank you also to our school choir for their fabulous set and local singer Ellen Lynch. Our very own Glastonbury vibe.
