Hedgehog competition posters

As part of their well-being time, Year 4 enjoyed designing these posters as part of the BHPS competition #RememberHedgehogs this November. Their campaign reminds us to:

Stop - Do you need to have a bonfire this year? can you attend a community event, or mark the occasion in a different, more wildlife-friendly way?

Move - If you do decide to have a bonfire, build it on the day you plan to light it. Move all the materials to a new site of they've been piled up overnight as hedgehogs may be nesting inside.

DT Mosaic Tiles

Year 4 have enjoyed their DT project this half term where they were tasked with researching, designing and making a Roman mosaic tile out of clay, that was 10cm x 10cm in size. The mosaic tiles then had to all fit together to make a class mosaic. They have done a fantastic job! Whose design do you like best?

Tag Rugby Finals

Our Year 5 and 6 tag rugby A team made it into the Tameside finals last week! In the group stage, they played against Lyndhurst, St Christopher's and St James' Hattersley. Broadbent Fold showed great skill and came 2nd in their group. Everyone is very proud of them for making the final!

Year 6 Autumn 2

I do hope you've all had a fabulous October holiday, and the children are raring to get cracking for our second term in Year 6. This half term will continue immersing the children in the expectations of Year 6. I will be explicit in how we can raise standards to ensure the children know what they need to do this year to be secondary school ready. These standards will be interwoven into our work in our second topic of the year- Did we come from apes?

Reception MTP and Home Learning

This half term we will be learning all about fabulous festivals and reading 'The Gingerbread Man'.

Below is the link to our medium term plan and home learning grid (this is entirely optional).

Simon Hunt visit

Today, Simon Hunt (A Teacher and an Author) visited Broadbent Fold to celebrate and share his stories with us! He read his book 'Billy the Bottom Burping Pirate.' The children found this story very amusing and even join in with the bottom burping sound effects.
