Looking at old toys

Year 1 loved playing with all the old toys as part of our history topic and could see that some of them were similar to ones we played with today. We spotted that the old toys were made of wood whereas our toys are usually made of plastic and metal now.

Year 1 football tournament

Year 1 loved taking part in a football tournament linked to the Women's World Cup as part of National Sports Week. There was some fantastic teamwork on display with great passing, shooting, defending and goal keeping skills. A big well done to Ruby house who won the tournament.

Litter Picking

Year 2 have been doing a fantastic job with their litter picking. They have found lots of interesting items buried under the bushes! A brilliant way to help save the environment.

Year 1 and 2 Sports Day

Year 1 and 2 loved taking part in their sports day today with lots of fantastic running, jumping and throwing. The welly throw and sack race were very popular. Sapphire house came out on top with 104 points, let's see which house will be the winner at the end of the week. Thank you to the Year 6 sports leaders who helped to run the stations!

Tremendous Toys: Have you got this toy at home?

Our topic for Summer 2 is 'Tremendous Toys:Have you got this toy at home?' where we will be comparing the toys we play with and the ones our grandparents used to play with when they were little. We will be designing and making our own moving toys and toy adverts. For more information on what we will be learning this half term, please see the topic web below.
