National Numeracy Day - Super Mathematicians!

On National Numeracy Day we looked at Maths throughout the school and chose a Super Mathematician of the Day from each class. Tiny, our White Rose Maths mascot, helped to present the certificates!  Well done to everyone!  Tiny will be visiting each classroom for the last Half Term!  Mrs Blomeley

Summer 2 Home Learning Menu

Here is the home learning menu for this half term linked to our topic Tremendous Toys: Have you got this toy at home?

Remember you can earn certificates for all your hard work with your home learning - Gold award = all 8 pieces of homework completed. Silver award = 6 pieces of homework completed, Bronze award = 4 pieces of homework completed

I cannot wait to see all the exciting things you produce. Don't forget to bring your homework into school or upload it to Seesaw.

Tremendous Toys: Have you got this toy at home?

This half term, our topic is called 'Tremendous Toys: Have you got this toy at home?' and focuses on how toys have changed since our grandparents were little to the current toys today. Pupils will take part in a toy workshop where they get to play with old toys and design and create their own moving toy. For more information about what we will be covering this half term, please see the MTP topic web below.

Handwriting Winners Summer 1

A huge well done to our handwriting winners this half term. I am so impressed with the standard of writing which is now proudly on display outside Mrs Parker's room.

Please have a look at some of their incredible work. I hope you enjoy using using your new handwriting pencil.

Science challenge- what is this?

Can you guess what is in the picture this time?

Can you describe the colour, texture and shapes that you can see? Does it remind you of anything?

If you think you know the answer write it down with your name and give it to Miss Harvey.

Explorify...

Well done to those who guessed correctly today- it was a starfish!

Did you know that a starfish is not actually a fish and it cannot swim? It is an echinoderm which uses its suckers to crawl across the ocean floor.

Book Look

Thank you for parents and carers who attended our book look. It was very successful and really nice to see faces in school again.

Year 1's busy forest school session

Year 1 had a busy afternoon in forest school this week.  They have been bug hunting, playing forest ranger and carrying out a scavenger hunt.  Some children used some of the natural objects that they found on their scavenger hunt to make some art work.  They have also been using their different senses to walk across the log walk while being blindfolded! Well done Year 1.
