Stars of the week 28th January

Year 1 have had another fantastic week! 

Luke and Scarlet won the good to be green pencils for always listening and being kind to others.

Curtis won the headteachers award for coming into school everday with a smile of his face and Noah won his for helping his friends when they find things difficult. 

Well done to Hollie who has earned 50 star points and her bronze award and to Noah and Eva who have earned 100 star points and their silver award.

Keep up the hard work Year 1!


Stars of the week 21st January

Year 1 have had another busy week and have worked really hard.

Well done to Tilly and Austin who got the good to be green pencils for always being kind and setting a good example to others.

Congratulations to Evan who got the headteachers award for brilliant contributions in English this week and to Matilda who got hers for being a fantastic role model to others.

A big well done to Reeva and Lily who have earnt their silver awards for getting 100 star points.


Stars of the week 14th January

Year 1 have made a fantastic start back after the New Year and are getting really engrossed in their dinosaurs topic. 

A big well done to Lydia and Albie who were our good to be green winners this week due to really impressing everyone with their great behaviour and for being kind to others.

Congratulations to Hollie who got e headteachers award for her fantastic dinosaur fact files.

Home Learning for Spring Term 1

Attached is the home learning for this half term linked to our topic 'What happened to the dinosaurs?'. All the activities link to the things we will be learning in school.

You can earn a gold award for completing all 8 pieces of homework, a silver award for completing 6 pieces of homework and a bronze award for completing 4 pieces of homework.

Don't forget to upload anything you complete to Seesaw or send it into school so we can see all the amazing things you have done at home!


What happened to the dinosaurs?

Happy New Year Year 1! We cannot wait to see you all back at school tomorrow.

Our new topic for this half term is called 'What happened to the dinosaurs?' and is a history based topic where we learn about Mary Anning, do an archaeological dig and find out about lots of different dinosaurs.

Attached is the topic web for this half term to find out all the exciting things we will be learning about. 


Stars of the Week 16th December

Wow, Year 1 have won so many awards in our celebration assembly this week for all their hard work!

Well done to all those pupils who got bronze, silver and gold awards for their home learning. You all sent me some amazing homework, I was so impressed!

Congratulations to Marshall for getting 50 star points and his bronze award and to Georgie and Elwin for getting 100 star points and their silver awards.

Ella won the PE award for all her fantastic ideas in the sports council meetings and for the teamwork she shows in multi skills.


Winter Reading

Over the holidays why not take part in the Winter Mini Challenge?

All you have to do is read at least 3 books between Wednesday 1st December and Sunday 16th January. Once you've read a book, add it to your website profile at summerreadingchallenge.org.uk and review it. Add 3 books (or more) to complete the Mini Winter challenge and become a Wild World Hero!

There's a brand new certificate and a limited edition virtual badge which can be won.


Christmas Party

KS1 had lots of fun at their Christmas party. They played musical statuses, musical bumps, corners and had a dancing competition. They loved the visit from Father Christmas and enjoyed the party food too. 


Christmas Dinner

Year 1 loved eating their Christmas dinner and all said it was very yummy! A big thank you to the ladies in the kitchen for making it for everyone.
