A Pilgrimage to the River Ganges

During creative week, Year 6 learnt about Hinduism and the River Ganges. They thought about what Hindus might take with them on a pilgrimage to the sacred River Ganges and why. The class looked at examples of Japa Mala beads that some Hindus use during prayer and they created their own set of mini beads, including a tassle!

Our World Projects

Look at our amazing projects we did at home. Well done everybody for all your wonderful creations. I'm very proud of you all. Mrs Cowling

Fire topic!

As part of our fire topic we have learnt about Guy Fawkes and created some bonfire pictures.  We have also recieved a letter from Queen Elizabeth asking us to research about the 'The Great Fire of London'.  The children used the ipads to do some research and created their own collages.  We have now written information books and sent them back to the Queen so she can read them.

Guess who's making an appearance in our topic for this term?

Cinderella of course! As it is only 7 weeks until Christmas we thought we would make a start preparing for our Christmas production of 'Cinderella Rockefella' which we hope to see you all at. This week we have been writing amazing descriptions of Cinderella and we have also introduced the glass slipper reward scheme which fits in with our topic perfectly.

Year 1 Diwali Day

Year 1 have been learning about Hinduism. We've had a Diwali day where we have made Diva Lamps, Rangoli patterns and paper lanterns.
