Where will our Adventure take us?

Happy New Year everybody! I hope you have had a lovely Christmas and New Year. We will be beginning the New Year with our topic 'Where will out adventure take us?' During Spring term 1, we will be exploring Piracy. We will be dressing up as pirates and using our map skills in an orienteering treasure hunt. Please see our medium term plan for our curriculum overview and the creative home learning grid for some fun cross curricular activities to complete at home. I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 4th January! 


Amazing achievements

 Well done to this week’s Head-teacher, Good to be Green and Vocabulary Ninja award children, you have continued to work extremely hard this week alongside all the Christmas festivities, good job! Well done to the children who received 99% and 100% Attendance awards for the Autumn term, keep it up! Also, Well Done to the children who received our Bronze, Silver and Gold home learning awards, I have been spoilt for choice when choosing the children’s work to put on our home learning display.


Christmas Party!

Year 1 and Year 2 Christmas party: best dancer award, pass the parcel, corners and musical statues. Oh what fun! Merry Christmas Everyone! 


Storytime with Y2...

Year 6 have been working incredibly hard on their adventure stories about dinosaurs for their target audience- year 2 children. Today they were so excited to get to read their stories aloud to our Y2 class to get some feedback.

Thank-you to year 2 for listening so well to our stories we hope you enjoyed them! 

 


This weeks awards go to...

 Well done to the children who received this weeks Head-teacher, Good to be Green and bronze awards. Year 2 received a whole class award for their fantastic singing and acting in our nativity. Well done to H who has achieved two awards at her swimming club outside of school. Well done everybody. One more week to go!


Santa Dash

Today we celebrated and joined in with the National Santa dash whilst listening to some Christmas songs. Oh what fun!


Winter Reading Challenge

After our very successful October reading challenge, the Reading Ambassadors have set a new one. Please complete a book review on one of your favourite books using the template which will be sent home. Please hand in your completed book review to your teacher by Friday 20th January for the chance of winning a prize. The best book reviews will be sent to Tameside Libraries who will display them on their Twitter feed. 

I can't wait to find out which books you have all been reading!

Where's Wally Challenge

The Reading Ambassadors have hidden Wally around the school. If you find a Wally on the wall take him off and hand it to your teacher to win a certificate from Miss Harvey.
