We have been busy mixing our own magic potions using the language full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty and empty.

We have been reading the story 'Jack Frost'. We have painted pictures of him and written some lovely descriptions. We couldn't believe it when he froze our duplo characters! We had some great ideas for investigating the best way to melt the ice.
The Reading Ambassadors met with me this week to choose winners for the book reveiw challenge that was set in December.
Thank you to all of the children who took part in the challenge- it was a very hard decision to choose a winner for each class. Please have a look at the winning book reviews which will be sent to Tameside Libraries to share on their social media.
Our winners were: Noah Hatton, Bella Rose, Kai Munro Taylor, Sam Sheppard and Abigail Taylor.
The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch is this weekend 27th-29th January. By taking part in Big Garden Birdwatch you, and hundreds of thousands of other like-minded nature lovers, will be taking action to protect our birds for generations to come. The Big Garden Birdwatch is fun, free and for everyone. And you don’t need a garden to take part! Counting birds from your balcony, or your local park will play a vital role in helping us understand how UK birds are doing.
We have been reading 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson. We have written rhyming spells for the witch and some marvellous sentences about who we would take on the broom with us.
We celebrated Chinese New Year by making dragon puppets, listening to Chinese music, creating our own dragon dance and by having a tasty Chinese banquet. It was fantastic!
This year is the Year of the Rabbit.
We spotted lots of signs of Winter on our walk. Bare trees, frost, snow, chilly weather etc. We took our thermometer with us and read it was 3 degrees. ❄️❄️❄️
We had a fantastic time learning all about the Muslim faith with Imran. We made our own Prayer Mats afterwards using a weaving technique.
During the first half term, Year 6 wrote a letter to King Charles III as part of their learning about the royal monarchs. This week we received a very special reply from the Palace which we are delighted with. This is very special and will be framed in school for others to read.
Well done Year 6!
