Top of the Timestable Charts

Fantastic results for Year 4 on the England Rocks Battle of the Bands this week as we won by a landslide. Theo was the most valuable player in school with Lucy being the third. I'm very proud of the all effort the children put into the competition. Well done everyone in Year 4.

Lest We Forget

Year 4 were very respectful during our Remembrance service yesterday. They have been very thoughtful and sensible discussing the loss of life throughout the wars. They even completed their 2 minutes silence standing on the side at Denton swimming baths at 11am. I am very proud of them.

Year 4 Super Stars

A massive congratulations to our merit winners- Nasir and Eva this week. Well done James and Sam for getting out Good to be Green pencils and for our cross country super stars: Faye, Oliver, Sam, James and Maisie. What a brilliant week.

Cross Country Grand Prix

Lots of pupils braved the cold on Saturday morning for the first cross country race this year. I was so impressed with the sportsmanship of everyone who took part and how everyone was cheering the pupils who were racing on.

Super Science in Year 4

This week the children have started to learn about sound in science. As scientist, they investigated how sound travelled through a string telephone. They chose to compare 2 criteria- either: long and short string telephones, big and small string telephones, wobbly and straight telephone wires or trapped and untrapped telephone wires. They created a hypothesis and then tried to prove whether they were right. Some groups were quite surprised by their results. What a great lesson.

Very Proud

What a shining beacon and a brilliant example of excellence Ellis is in Year 4. In his own time he raised £446 for the Alzhemer's Society. He completed a memory walk in aid of his grandad Jeff. We are all very proud of you Ellis- well done.

Y4 Amazing Children

What an awful lot of awards this Friday. There has been Bronze awards for Nathan, Lexi, Sophia, Polly, Isabelle, Luca, Amelia and Isobel. Our pencil awards for having a brilliant attitude towards their learning went to Lucy and Sophia this week and our marvellous merits were given to Holly and Lexi for their amazing progress in maths.

What a brilliant week we've had in Year 4- well done.

How to keep warm on a chilly day

Year 4 had a brilliant PE session today ensuring that they kept warm whilst It was windy and cool outside. They were really excited to get their hockey sticks and to start dribbling the balls completing many drills. Well done Year 4

Perfect Polish

What an amazing chance we had today to speak to our link school in Poland. We sang a song to them that we'd learnt and introduced ourselves. It was brilliant!!!
