Japanese lunch Tokyo Style

Some very passionate players in our football tournament today. The scores are:
1st Great Britain = 10 points
2nd Argentina = 5 points
Joint 3rd China and Portugal = 3 points
5th Brazil = 2 points
Year 5 are having an amazing week. I have felt really proud to teach a fantatsic class with brilliant sporting qualities. We have completed lots of activities.

Long Jump
Joint 1st = Tilly, Harrison and Albert with 170m
Joint 2nd = Brooke and Ayden with 160m
Trying a new skill- tennis in Year 3, what superstars. Children quickly picked up new skills and enthuastically played a mini game of tennis with their partner.
Children really enjoyed taking part in Athletic activities including throwing the javelin, sprinting and hurdles.
We can see future Olympic stars in the children of Broadbent Fold.
Year 3 have learnt about how The Olympics more than likely started during The Ancient Greek times. The games were different the winners won a wreath. How amazing that the Olympic games still continues today.
We learnt about the modern day Olympics and designed Olymppic torches.
In day 1 of Sports Week, Year 1 and Year 2 took part in Future Stars. They completed in lots of multiskills activities to test their throwing, jumping, running, co-oridination and balance. We were so impressed with the teamwork from everyone and how supportive they were of their team mates.
1st place - Great Britain 58 points
Joint 2nd place - China and Brazil 55 points
3rd place - Argentina 54 points
4th place Portugal 53 points
Year 1 have been impressing both Miss Mainprize and Mrs Hallam with their work on money. We spotted different types of coins and even visited the Year 1 shop.
Year 1 have been loving their Martial Arts lessons. They have been learning different punches and kicks and even got the chance to use the pads this week to help perfect their skills.
To start our new topic, we played with lots of different toys from the past to try to work out what they were and how to use them. We noticed that most of them were made of wood but were shocked to find that some are still similar to ones we play with today.
