Head teacher's blog

Very Proud

What a shining beacon and a brilliant example of excellence Ellis is in Year 4. In his own time he raised £446 for the Alzhemer's Society. He completed a memory walk in aid of his grandad Jeff. We are all very proud of you Ellis- well done.

Pumpkin Fun!

Thank you to the PTFA for our pumpkin picking fun yesterday. Everyone had fun and ate some delicious treats. Thank you for supporting our school. Our PTFA will share the funds raised and the focus of these funds.

Space Week...

The planetarium from Jodrell Bank visited our school for year 2s topic and to celebrate Space Week. It was out of this world!

Harvest Time.

Thank you for all our harvest donations. This year we have donated to The Sandwich Angels. These wonderful volunteers make sandwiches for the homeless families in Greater Manchester. Jacob organised this and wants to help out in the community to build homes when he is older. What an inspiration!

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

Thank you for all your donations and support raising money for Macmillan. We will confirm the final amount once the last of the cakes are sold this week. Thank you and well done to everyone. Thank you to Mrs Butler and Mrs Lynch for their hard work with this.

Olympic Torch

The Olympic Torch arrived last week as we took part in Tameside's baton relay. Our Sports Ambassadors ran through school with the London 2012 torch and they were joined by a special mascot!

It was a fabulous end to our Sports Week.

Our Worry Monster

We now have our own Worry Monster in our school hall. This allows children to put their worries in and our Worry Wizard Champions help children dealing with worries. We have mini monsters being made, for each class to share.

Worry Wizard Assembly

Our assembly this week looked at our work on working 'together' to share our worries. There have been some lovely pieces of work shared. We are starting to create our book of worries and a toolkit to help ourselves and each other. Try to write a poem for next week at home. Year 1 and 2 - this can be about Worries and Year 3,4,5 and 6 this can be about Wellbeing. Wellbeing means we are turning worries to wellbeing to make us happy again. Send me all your poems!

Worry Wizard

The Worry Wizard will be part of my assemblies in school. This will link to home learning and activities that can be done in school and at home. Together, our school community will embark on an exciting journey to understand what Wellbeing is and how we can all support it.
