Year 2 Woodlands Week

Year 2 had a fantastic time last week during Woodlands Week.  We made woodland crowns, dens, leaf people, Andy Goldsworthy inspired art work as well as enjoyed a whole school trip to Lyme Park.

Woodland's Week

A fabulous week was had by all in this creative week.

Year 4 throughly enjoyed building dens and learning in the outdoor environment.

Year 1 Woodlands Week

Year 1 had an amazing time during Woodlands Week. We made dens, went on a Boggart hunt, created large natural art work and visited Lyme Park.

Year 5's Woodland Week

Woodlands Week was a great success in Year 5.  We were able to use the school's new microscopes to study leaves.  The children were fascinated when Mrs Anson found galls on leaves which will eventually hatch into wasps.  They also discovered some black spots (tar spots) on some of the sycamore leaves.  We now know that this is evidence of there being little pollution in the air surrounding our school!   Another favourite activity was our Woodlands Art; the children brought in some interesting stems, leaves and flower heads to creatre some beautiful artwork on the school field.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

What a brilliant success the Macmillan coffee morning was, raising £407.88. Well done to all those who contributed by bringing in cakes, money or who came and had a coffee. Many thanks
