Super Science Week!

Super Science Week!

Science Week was a huge success last week!  Billy Branston’s Amazing Potato Factory was resident in the car park from Tuesday to Thursday and all of the children from Year 1 to Year 6 spent an hour in the bus. They engaged in hands on tasks such as planting; growing and storage; sorting and weighing and nutrition and cooking. Key Stage 2 were extremely lucky to visit the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester where they enjoyed fun and educational interative shows and activities.   On Friday 20th March the children were able to put their handmade pinhole viewers to the test to view the much talked about Solar Eclipse!  We weren't disappointed!  "Awesome", "Amazing" and "Unforgettable" were some of the children's comments.  We received a record number of entries for the “The Worst Invention Ever!” competition; they were all fantastic and included a glass football, waterproof teabags and an inflatable dartboard! Thank you to all the parents who helped our budding scientists with these innovative designss!  Watch this space for photographs of the winning entries!
