Year 4 Blog

Our Amazing Visitor

Today, Imran came into class to teach Year 4 about the Prophet Mohammad. It was fascinating to find out about the life of the Prophet. The children were amazed to find out how the Prophet lived through so many tragedies in his life. The calling from Allah was strong and Mohammad went into the wilderness to receive messages from God through Angel Gabriel, writing these down in the Quran. The children were very respectful and listened intently to Imran when he was explaining. They also asked some very good questions too.

Our Scottish Visitor

What an amazing opportunity we had today as Joseph's dad came and shared his childhood stories from Scotland. We revelled in his stories about The Loch Ness Monster and the Goddess Beira. The children loved the taste of Scotland as he'd brought in Iron Bru and homemade shortbread.  A massive thank you for coming and talking to the class, it really brought the Scottish myths and legends to life and gave them meaning.

Urban Extreme Dance Fest

Last half term, Broadbent Fold loved taking part in the Urban Extreme Dance Fest and came away with a trophy for team spirit. We were really proud of everyone who took part; they encouraged and supported everyone in their own team and also cheered on other schools too. A big thank you to our dance coach Zoe for helping us with our routine and a special well done to Lottie who represented our school in a dance off.

A letter from HRH King Charles III

During the first half term, Year 6 wrote a letter to King Charles III as part of their learning about the royal monarchs. This week we received a very special reply from the Palace which we are delighted with. This is very special and will be framed in school for others to read.

Well done Year 6!

House Team Winners - Ruby!

Ruby have won the House Team Points for autumn term. Well done Ruby - you have been so impressive all term and have worked incredibly hard to achieve your rewards. On Friday 13th January, you will receive a special non-uniform day for your efforts. Good luck to the other teams this term - you can do it!

Can You Explain the Unexplained?

The children were very intrigued yesterday to start our new topic. They were so enthused that we may have a visitor joining us to help us understand Scottish Myths. I was really impressed by their investigatory skills as they have gained lots of ideas to help them with their newspaper writing next week.

Marvellous Lottie

Look at Lottie's  amazing charity work. She has raised £410 for Reuben's Retreat in November and Decembe. We are very proud of you Lottie. Well done.

Year 4 Spring Term

Dear Parents, Carers, I do hope you had a fabulous Christmas holiday, and the children are looking forward to our new term at school which starts tomorrow. Please find attached out Medium Term Plan and Home Learning Grid. This half term we are trying to Explain the Unexplained! This topic enables the children to really delve into several mysteries from the Loch Ness Monster, sightings of Yeti, Bermuda Triangle disappearances and Scottish legends. It is followed closely by our science topic on Electricity, where an electrical coding workshop has been organised.

Amazing Awards in Year 4

What an amazing amount of awards on our final day for the Christmas holidays. Well done Year 4. Have a fabulous Christmas and I'll see you all in the New Year.
