An explosive start to Year 3

As part of Year 3's Creative homework children have made a range of models, some have made a paper mache hot air balloon and painted them. We have even had model volcanoes which children have confidently shared with the class, explaining and demonstrating models and even getting them to explode!!

A huge thank you and well done to all Year 3.

Year 4's Journey Through Roman Britain!

Year 4 had a great day yesterday at their Roman Workshop.  A journey through the key events of Roman Britain was brought to life in an interactive timeline including appearances from Claudius and Boudica!  The children had the opportunity to wear armour, handle a range of Roman artefacts, and took great delight in throwing spears!   It will certainly be a day to remember!  Mrs Blomeley

Y6 Head Teachers Award

Well done Maisie for the Headteacher's Special Recognition Award.

You always follow the school values. You are a great support to peers in your class and are a joy to have in the classroom.

Congratulations.

PE lessons

It was raining so we couldn't do our normal PE lesson outside. Instead we had lots of fun developing our hand eye co-ordination skills in the classroom by having egg and spoon races, playing air hockey and practising bouncing, throwing and rolling balls. Some of us took what Miss Mainprize had taught us and even created our own games!

Visit from Max and Harvey!

We were very lucky on Friday to have a visit from Max and Harvey as part of green and blue day to raise money for Manchester Children's Hospital. They sang a song for us and we got to ask them lots of questions.

Space Week

We were very busy in Science last week learning lots about space. We learnt about the phases of the moon and how the moon orbits the Earth whilst the Earth is orbiting the sun. We also pretended to be astronauts by wearing gloves to see if it made tasks more difficult. Finally we used Lego to create our very own alien planets.

Spanish Day in Year 3

What a fun-filled day we've had today! It started with a zoom Spanish lesson with Seniora Buckley. We played Simon Dice (Simon Says) and learned a Halloween song in Spanish. We also learned flamenco dance. We found out lots of interesting facts about Spain and created a fact file. Finally, we pretended we were on holiday in Spain and wrote postcards from Spain.

Fun Fundraising Friday in Year 4!

Year 4 had a "Fun Friday" when they dressed in blue and green to raise funds for the RMCH and the NHS!  The morning started with a visit from Max and Harvey who performed their single "Stranger" in the hall.  The children loved it!  Thank you for all your donations and support.  Mrs Blomeley
