World Book Day in Y6

World Book Day in Y6

We have thoroughly enjoyed World Book Day in school this week and I hope that you have at home too.

The Masked Reader 2021 was a great success. We had a good laugh and I was so impressed with your detective work at working out which adults were reading.

Well done to all those who joined in with dressing up as their favourite book characters on Thursday- have a look at some photographs above.

Our author workshops have been very inspiring this week. Thankyou for Tameside Libraries for our workshop with Shoo Rayner. I know the children enjoyed drawing along with Shoo's illustrations.

Thank you also to 'The Children's Bookshow' for our workshops with Michael Rosen and Kwame Alexander. Two very inspiring authors who were a joy to listen to.

Congratulations to all of the children in Year 6 who have made a 'tube character' for our World Book Day compeition.

Our winners are Kacie with 'The diary of a wimpy kid' and Poppy with Hermoine from Harry Potter. Please scroll through the photographs to see our entries and some photographs of the workshops from the week.

Everone will receive their World Book Day £1 token in school next week. :)
