Survival of the fittest in Y6

Survival of the fittest in Y6

Year 6 designed fair tests this week to see who would survive through natural selection. They chose different 'beaks' that they had to use to collect as much food as possible. They set up the investigations scientifically exploring how they would control the constants and variables fairly. They had a lot of fun collecting their food- some of the birds were very messy. I think that some of the birds may have also tried to cheat a little bit too; a lot of fun was had by all. I think the class agreed that picking up uncooked rice with chopsticks was a sure way for their bird to become extinct.
