Miss Laitl from Key Stage 1 gave a presentation to Year 5 this week about her homeland, Poland.  We found out about the population, the different districts within the country and that the diverse landscapes in Poland include mountains, beaches and even a desert!  We discovered that Polish buildings are colourful and there are lots of beautiful churches there.  We had a go at speaking in Polish and learnt about Polish currency which is called Zloty.  We also asked Miss Laitl some of the questions we had prepared.  Finally we sampled a variety of traditional Polish food such as pickled herrings, smoked cheese, sausages, bread and some chocolate treats!  We became food critics and wrote some reviews about the different foods we tasted.  Our next step is to produce some persuasive posters to show how wonderful Poland is!   Thank you Miss Laitl!   Year 5
