It all started when Year 5 decided to write to our lovely "Toast Ladies" to thank them for their very kind efforts in making toast every Frday for the whole school.  From the proceeds of the toast, each class had been given a budget to re-vamp their Reading Corner with new books and accessories.  Year 5 chose very wisely - books from their favourite authors, such as David Walliams and Jeff Kinney, together with a much needed bookcase and a furry rug to make the corner more cosy.  Year 5 decided to invite the Toast Ladies to officially open the Reading Corner and also invited Ms Thornton Jones, who had made the whole thing possible.  There was a slight panic when the bookcase didn't arrive but thanks to Mrs Davenport, who worked hard to solve this problem, the Grand Operning was finally scheduled to take place on Friday 27th May!  We even managed to persuade our Chair of Governors (Mr Smith) to attend this important event! Hosted by Katie, the Opening went according to plan and Ms Thornton Jones cut the ribbon with great pleasure.  The children are now looking forward to spending more time in their special Reading Corner.
