Evolution workshop

Evolution workshop

Year 6 had an amazing time during our evolution and inheritance workshop this week. I am so proud of how much knowledge you all remembered from our science topic, yet we still learnt so many new facts. We started the morning looking at the theory of evolution by natural selection and recreated the famous image from 'The Origin of Species'. We then went head-to-head in a competition to see who would survive picking up ping-pong balls with a spoon- and even using chopsticks!! We then explored how the human body is amazing using a circuit of PE activities. In the afternoon we got to become paleontologists measuring, exploring and classifying fossils. We loved looking at the mammoth hair, teeth and tusks. We were very impressed with the megladon tooth too!
