British Science Week 2021

British Science Week 2021

Between 5th- 14th March is British Science Week.

Please see the attached activities below with ideas of how you can find out about how science is used in different jobs. What does an engineer do? How have immunologists helped us during the Covid pandemic? What is the difference between a climate scientist and a space scientist?  Choose an activity to complete and send in to admin@broadbentfold.tameside.sch.uk or send in via the Seesaw app to your class teacher. Or could you ask your family do they use science in their jobs?  All of the video links for the activities can be found- https://pstt.org.uk/resources/curriculum-materials/Science-at-Work

Once back at school all classes will take part in British Science Week by conducting some of their own experiments. They will join together with another class (via Zoom) to share their discoveries. Please keep checking your class blog for photographs of completed work/experiments.

Competition time. Please see the attached competition- design a product that could be engineered to help in some way in your class. Maybe you could design a robot that sharpens all of the pencils. Could you innovate a drone that brings resources for each lesson? Maybe design a 'Teacher pleaser' machine to make your day easier. Send in your labelled design before Friday 12th March.

I hope you are inspired to be innovative during Science Week :)
